Together with the Beat Diabetes Foundation, we organized the seminar "Shaping the Future of AI in Diabetes Care" at The Park, Forskaren in Stockholm. We gathered leading researchers, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, people with diabetes, and experts in AI and health to discuss the opportunities and challenges of implementing AI in diabetes care. It was an inspiring afternoon filled with insightful presentations and discussions, where we explored how AI can help solve many of the challenges that diabetes care faces today.

The Beat Diabetes Foundation has for many years worked to raise awareness about diabetes and contribute to research and development in the field. During the seminar, the foundation announced that they are making a donation to OneTwo Analytics, with the purpose to promote innovation and the development of AI in diabetes care.

At OneTwo Analytics, we are deeply grateful for Beat Diabetes Foundation's generous support and the trust placed in us to carry their vision forward. Through this contribution, their mission will live on. Groundbreaking progress in research against type 1 diabetes!

Jan 8, 2025

Our co-founder and CMO, Professor Per-Ola Carlsson, is a leading researcher in type 1 diabetes. His groundbreaking research investigates the potential of genetically modified, hypoimmune insulin-producing cells from the islets of Langerhans as a cure for type 1 diabetes. Here’s what he has to say about his research:

"We have shown that genetically modified beta cells can survive and produce insulin in people with type 1 diabetes – without the need for immunosuppressive treatment. These early results are a significant step forward in our research towards a cure."

While the search for a cure continues, Professor Carlsson is also committed to improving diabetes care:

"My long-term goal is to contribute to a cure for type 1 diabetes, but in the meantime, I aim to enhance the clinical management of diabetes and the daily lives of everyone living with diabetes by developing digital solutions that can automate the interpretation of diabetes data."
